  1. COMMON REQUIREMENTS TO THE COURSE TEACHING LANGUAGES METHODOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

COURSE LENGTH:
Total – 112 hours
Lectures - 34 hours (5th semester – 18 hours; 6th semester – 16 hours)
Seminars – 34 hours (5th semester - 16 hours; 6th semester – 18 hours)
Independent Study – 54 hours (5th semester – 28 соат; 6th semester –26 hours)
ASSESSMENT:
Fall semester – midterm test
Spring semester – final exam


AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE are developing students’ professional competence by:

  • recognizing the effectiveness of TFLM&ET provisions in teaching languages

  • understanding crucial educational reforms based on CEFR due to enhancing the system of TFL in Uzbekistan

  • knowing modern aims, principles, content, approaches, technologies, methods and techniques in TFL

  • identifying adequate exercises, tasks, activities in TFL in accordance with the psychological features of the learners (age, interests, and abilities), teaching goals and stage of the system of continuous education (primary, secondary school, college, etc.)

  • planning academic procedure for different stages of the system of continuous education of (compulsory course, independent study, out of class activities)

  • making lesson plans

  • deciding on suitable assessment for further learner progressing

  • creating tests based on variety of techniques

  • selecting and designing teaching materials according to the didactic and special principles used in TFL

  • varying technologies, methods, techniques in TFL
