Entry 3: Reflection
The Academic English seminars are over, and now I realize the importance of this module for the rest of my life. The seminars were conducted four times a week and they were very interesting and interactive for me. During the seminars, I learned many new and useful, such as proper referencing, using and searching academic sources, writing the summary response. Furthermore, I started to work collaboratively with my groupmates and comprehend the importance of teamwork.

The most useful and extraordinary during the seminars were getting feedback from the tutor. At first, I was scared to request my tutor to check my drafts and give feedback, because my teacher at school never checked my works before the submission and it was something new for me. When I first received the feedback about my summary response essay, my tutor highlighted my mistakes and gave very useful advice on how to improve my work. I suppose it will have a crucial impact on the successful completing of my portfolio.

Moreover, another new and important thing for completing the portfolio were using academic sources. In high school, we expressed only our personal opinion in an essay, but here I started to use different sources to support my views with professors opinion from their researches. Now, I know how to search academic sources and how properly use them and integrate in my essay. I think it is the most necessary thing during university time and also when I will work.

In conclusion, I want to state that the Academic English module is the most important and necessary during the whole CIFS period because the knowledge taken from it will be used during the next three years or even more. Also, I noticed that during the classes I improved my English proficiency, writing, listening and other skills. I am very delighted that I have studied in this module.
