“Types of migrant groups” Migration:
Migration is defined as the movement of people over some distance.
Migrant
An individual who leaves the primary cultural context in which he or she was raised and move to a new cultural context for an extended time.
Types
Voluntary migrants
In voluntary migrants Voluntary migrants:
The migration is voluntary , when the mover has a roll in decision making process.
There are two types of voluntary migrants.
Sojourners:
People who move into new cultural contexts for a limited period of time an and for specific purpose.
Such as for study purpose or for a business purpose.
e.g: international students who go abroad to study and technical assistance workers.
Immigrants:
People who are come to a new country , region environment to settle more or less permanently.
An example of an immigrant is a woman who moves from Mexico to the United State
When the migration is involuntary , the mover has no role in the decision making process.
Refuges , slavery and military conscription are all forced migration.
About 11 million African slaves were brought to the Americans between 1519 and 1867.
In 1860 , there were close to 4 million slaves in the united state. So this is the biggest forced migration in human history.
Refugees:
A refugees is a person residing outside his or her country of nationality , who is un able or un willing to return because of religion , nationality , membership. In a political group or political opinion.
In 2019 there were 26 million refugees around the world. Many came from Syria.
Types of refugees
Short term refugees:
People who are forced for a short to move from their region or country.
And the time duration should be from 3 to 12 months.
Except in case where the purpose of this movement is a recreation , holydays, visits friends or relatives, business and medical treatment.

When operation zarbe-e-azab started ,they were asked for six months to move toward vicinity cities .
Long term refugees:
People who are forced for to relocate permanently because of war , famine and operation.
Most refugees are from developing countries and flee to other nearby developing countries.
For example., in 2006 , the highest no of refuges came from Afghanistan and Iraq and countries who hosted the largest numbers of refugees were their neighboring countries , Pakistan and Iran .

Afghan people whose displaced to Pakistan and Iran.
