Literature review:

  1. Using of Obsolete words

As a result of the constant change in the semantic structure of any language, words undergo stages of emergence, development, phonetic or semantic change, and finally extinction in general use. Over time, these words are replaced by new words, and the need for old words diminishes and disappears completely. In most cases, when we have to use obsolete words in the current language, giving them as entry words is the most appropriate way. Each language has its own lexical layer as well as obsolete words. There are also 47,156 obsolete words in English today, according to the Oxford dictionary, such as:
Over morrow means the day after tomorrow
Zafty means a person very easily imposed upon
Snout flair means a good-looking person
Monsterful means wonderful and extraordinary
2. Principal characteristics of archaic words
The fact that archaic words are sometimes humorous (forsooth), sometimes very formal (What say you), and sometimes solemn emotional meanings (With thee do I plight my troths), is a clear distinguishing feature. According to Random House dictionary: Archaisms proper are obsolete words denoting real things and phenomena but the words themselves are no longer found in ordinary English, other words replaced them. There are 2 types of archaisms. They are lexical and grammatical archaisms.
For grammatical archaic words in English, we can give example: - th - suffix of the 3rd person singular Present Indefinite Tense doth, hath, speaketh; - st - 2nd person dost, hast, speakest.
For lexical archaic words: morn -tong, damsel - qiz, hearken - eshitmoq, the welkin - the sky.

Research methodology:
In this study we will use Qualitative research methods like Questionnaires, Interview. We take questionnaires from Students to check how well they can distinguish obsolete and archaic words. As well as we will organize interviews with our teachers to learn new information and to enhance our knowledge.
For the Quantitative research methods, we will use facts, statistics and words from international dictionaries. Then we will collect data on this topic from articles related to it.
