These days, more and more young people are choosing to study in other countries

We cannot help everyone in the world that needs help, so we should only be concerned with our own communities and countries.


To what extent do you agree or disagree?



Many feel that we should refrain from helping people in other parts of the world as long as there are problems in our own community. I disagree with this point of view because I believe that people should try to help everyone with no geographical boundaries.


On the one hand, I admit that it is important to assist our neighbours and countrymen. Every town or city, no matter how wealthy it is, always suffers the issues of poverty, homelessnes, and unemployment. If one is willing to contribute and find fulfillment in his life, he should be concerned with undernourished or homeless people in his own neighbourhood. This is because when our community is full of disadvantaged families and people in need, there is no point to help someone in another corcer of the globe. Therefore, I understand those who think that we should be trying to support people in our own country.


Nevertheless, I believe that we should not stop from helping people, regardless of their nationalities or religious beliefs. In some impoverished societies people are facing more serious problems and therefore struggling financially and emotionally. If our fellow citizens do not need much assistance, then we ought to be concerned with people in other communities. With the advent of technological advancements in recent times, it has been possible to reach far-flung destinations, so now we can volunteer our time and money to those who are suffering from preventable diseases or abject poverty in other parts of the world. Thus, the sense of humanity should not end with national borders.


In summary, it seems to me that we should aspire to help as many people as possible as opposed to prioritising local charity over international contributions.
