ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT LEARNERS’ LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE:
I assume learners have understanding of the language and feel self-confident

Lesson plan on Speaking and Listening
(Task-based language learning)
Topic: Education (Studying)
Duration: 45 min
Level: Intermediate
Aim: to develop speaking, listening skills
To develop thinking and self-confidence
Objectives: to build interest in the topic of the lesson and activities
Materials: handouts, visual aids, speaker, tape-recorder (computer)
Warm-up: to get introduced with each other by using adjectives with their names,
Activity 1: Look at the four pictures. They are mixed up. Work in pairs. Put the four pictures in a sequence so that they tell a story. Prepare to tell your story to another pair.

Activity 2: Listen to the story named “The bad old days” and try to retell it. ( listen once, so be attentive) (Innovation for intermediate level, track 07, part 2)


Activity 3: Listen to the conversation and try to draw a picture of what you understood. (Headway lesson 6, track 51)
Activity 4: Read the four headlines A to D. Match two pieces of information to each headline. Explain to your partner how you did this. What clues did you find? Did you both use the same clues?
