Aims: Educational: to learn fairy tales Developing: to enable pupils to talk about fairy tales; To enable pupils to act out role plays Socio-cultural: to raise awareness of acting out fairy tales in role plays Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to: -speak about fairy tales, to act out a role play Vocabulary and structure: Fresh air, clean water, too, bull Equipment: Pupil’s book,Workbook, the DVD of the book, flashcards Warm up: 3 min The song ”Old McDonald had a farm” Play the DVD. Ask the pupils to listen to the song and sing along with the DVD Activity 1 Animals quiz. 5 min Objective: to remember the names of the animals; to develop reading skills. There are cards with riddles on the desk. One of the pupils comes out, takes one of the cards and read the riddle. A pupil who guesses the riddle is the next to read the riddle.

Activity 2 To stick the cards with the written names of the animals under the pictures of the animals 5 min Objectives: to develop the pupils’ reading skills; To develop the pupils logical thinking Activity 3 Answer the questions 5 min Objectives: to prepare for the next activity; To improve speaking skills Ask the pupils the questions in the Pupil’s book. Ask if they have seen the cartoon “Susambil”. If there any pupils who knows about this fairy tale, ask him/her to tell the pupils shortly about it. They can use their mother tongue. Activity 4 Find the words in the Wordlist. 5 min Objectives: to present the new vocabulary; To practice working with the Wordlist. Step 1 : Ask the pupils to work in pairs and look up the Wordlist to find the new words and their meanings. Step 2 : Ask the pupils to repeat the new words (fresh air, clean water, too, bull) after you in chorus, in rows, individually. Activity 4a Look, read and translate. & 4b Listen and repeat. 5 min Objective: to give practice in translating simple sentences Ask the pupils to look at the pictures and guess what Zumrad and Jasur said. Repeat sentences in chorus. Draw pupils attention to the Remember box.
Activity 5 Listen, look and say 5 min Objectives: to enable pupils to speak fairy tales; To develop speaking skills. Step 1 : Play the DVD. Ask the pupils to listen to the fairy tale. Step 2 : Ask them to work in pairs. Have them look at the pictures and say what the animals want to do. Activity 6 Work in groups . Read the story in roles 5 min Objective : to develop pupils’ reading skills Activity 7 To act out the fairy tale 5 min Objectives: to develop the pupils’ speaking skills; To practice acting role plays Homework 2 min Workbook exercise 1a,1b on page 79
