 As housing is a basic need for the people, governments should provide free houses for
everyone. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 
There is no doubt that shelter is the basic necessity among other two that are food and 
clothes , that’s why some people argue that it should be provided to every citizen without 
any cost . 
While, I believe that free housing should be provided for those who are living in intense 
poverty, however giving this benefit to all the members will certainly create issues for the state. 
On the one hand, I believe that people living below poverty line really need this assistance by the 
government.
First and foremost, reason is that it is the prime duty of the state to provide 
accommodation for its natives as they pay taxes and help in the growth of economy by providing 
share for the countries welfare by virtue of which it becomes the responsibility of regime to think 
for its citizens. Moreover, by doing this , it will raise the life security of underprivileged people as 
housing is the basic need for the survival of human beings by which they can feel more secure 
against certain threats like natural disasters or atrocious weather conditions.
Finally, international 
status will also rise in front of foreigners if they see better infrastructure and no slum areas at the 
visiting places which ultimately help in developing the image of the country. 
Meanwhile, I also feel that it would be problematic for the authorities if they build houses for 
everyone.
Firstly, these days building homes require exorbitant costs of material and land which 
would imbalance the economy as government have already a limited budget and resources which 
they have to utilize for the betterment of a nation and it may lead to extra burden on the officials.
Even by the dint of this people will become over dependent on government and they will stop 
making their own efforts which will eventually halt the process of development.
Finally, that 
money can be better utilized on more alarming issues which seek the immediate attention of the 
government. For instance medical and educational sectors are more deserving fields which should 
be assisted by the state on priority basis. 
In conclusion, it is undeniable that housing is on the top of the desired list of every person, I think it 
is impossible for the state to construct it for every individual in the society.
