Conclusion
We have discussed the problem of prepositions so have some information about the types of prepositions about their function in different languages, prepositions phrases, prepositional groups, prepositions of time so place used in A. Silltioe’s “Key to the door”.
Preposition is a word governing noun or pronoun the expressing latters relation to another word. Prepositions are most important element of the structure of many languages, particularly in modern English. Prepositions express the relation between words in a sentence so is taken as a definition of the meanings of preposition. In different languages preposition may be different, but their functions are the same, they connect the words. in old English prepositions governed: dative, genitive, accusative. In modern English it is to close a sentence with preposition or even two depending on the specific requirements of the sense verb.
In the syntactical function of prepositions we distinguish between two levels of the language: that of phrases, sentence so its parts.
As far as the phrases are concerned, the function of prepositions is to connect words with each other. Prepositional phrase consists of a preposition plus nominal group. We have explained the preposition as a minor verb. On the interpersonal dimension, it functions as a minor predicator having a nominal group as its complement; as we saw above in, this is felt to be essentially no different from the complement of a full predicator prepositional complement.
As we have said the head of prepositions is realized only by preposition. These may be simple so complex. The simple prepositions which consists of only one word. So complex prepositions which consist more than one word. Sometimes noun of the complex preposition may be modified by an adjective. As it was said before there preposition of place ad time.
Preposition of place are typically either adjuncts relating an vent or a state of affairs to a location; they may also act as obligatory predicative adjuncts.
Preposition of time is usually occur as adjunct of post modifier, but it can occasionally be itself the complement of a temporal prepositions.
In order to understso a language so express oneself correctly one must assimilate the grammar mechanism of a language. Indeed, one may know all the words in a sentence so yet fail to understso it, if one does not see the relationship between the words in the given sentence. So vice versa, a sentence may contain one, two, so more unknown words but if one has a good knowledge of the structure of the language one can easily guess the meanings of these words or at least find them in a dictionary, No speaking is possible without the knowledge of grammar, without the forming of a grammar mechanism. Children need grammar to be able to speak, so write in the target language.
Our aim is to form grammar skills so prevent children from making grammar mistakes in their speech. The aim of foreign languages in primary schools is to develop pupils’ skills in order to understso speech so participate in conversation.
The method so techniques the teacher should use in teaching children of primary school is the direct method so various techniques which can develop pupils’ listening comprehension so speaking.
We have examined two kinds of grammar skills: the reproductive so receptive grammar skills. The reproductive grammar skills give pupils an opportunity to make up their own sentences in oral so written forms in other words to communicate so the receptive grammar skills give them an opportunity to read texts or aud so understso it.
To master the reproductive grammar skills one should study the basic sentences or models (grammar is presented as itself in the basic sentences), to master the receptive grammar skills one should identify so analyze the grammar item. We teach children to read by means of grammar. It reveals the relationship between the words in the given sentence.
We have such a conclusion that the forming of grammar skills depends on training. Training is of great importance to realize the grammar item. We must use a lot of training exercises for the assimilation of grammar. We should provide the motivation of learn English, encourage children to communicate so remember that the correction of errors in the early stages of a language course may foster the following negative aspects:

  • children lose confidence when they have fear of making grammar mistakes

  • children become reluctant to take risks: they only the say the information they know they can say

We should realize the importance of training exercises so the role of the individual approach to teaching the children. Besides, the teacher must have a clear idea of the grammar of the language, its structure so usage; everything he teaches must be based on it; he should always be conscious of introducing or practicing some point of grammar.
