TERMEZ STATE UNIVERSITY
Termez state university is only University in Surkhandarya region is higher educational and scientific research centre. It was founded on February 28 in 1992 with the decree of the president of the republic of Uzbekistan. It was organized on the basis of the former Termez state Pedagogical Institute. Until 1992 institute had the faculties of physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, geography, history, Russian philology Uzbek philology, foreign languages and trained only teachers. When it became University there opened new faculties and it began to train engineers, economist, accountants, financers, tutors, ecologists, coaches and interpreters. At present time. There are functioning 9 faculties, 32 chairs, more than 20 educational laboratories, scientific research laboratories, 6 reading halls and libraries. More than 7000 students are studying in daytime, 550 professors and teachers are teaching them. 29 of them are doctors of sciences and 177 of them candidates of sciences, 4 of them are academicians of different academics of sciences. Scholars of the University are carrying our scientific researches in different fields. They are well known not only in country but abroad also.
