A Brief History of the Department of General Biology and Physiology
Since March 2010, PhD has been working at the Department of Biology, Associate Professor M. Zhumanov presided. In September 2011, the Department of Biology and Soil Science was reorganized on the basis of disciplines associated with the former Department of Biology. Gaipov presided. In 2013-2014, the department was headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor A. Saitova chaired. In September 2014, the Department of Biology was reorganized and renamed the Department of Biology Associate Professor H. Tursunbaev headed. 2015-2018 Department Ph.D., Associate Professor Ph.D., Associate Professor V. Davletmuratova headed the department. As of September 2018, Ph.D., Professor A. Matchanov steers.

Biologygraduates of the educational direction can work in schools, lyceums and colleges, city and district departments of education, anti-plague stations, the committee on ecology and environmental protection.

Our faculty has a "Herbarium", where more than 5,000 herbariums of plants and about 100 flowers are grown. In addition, there is the Zoology Museum, which contains more than 150 collections of animals and birds, more than a thousand preparations. They are used during lectures and practical exercises.

Today, the department has a well-organized research work, professors and teachers are actively involved in local and international projects.
Scientific connections. The department has scientific ties with universities and research institutes of the republic.
Currently, the Department of General Biology and Physiology has 26 professors and teachers, including 2 doctors of science, professors, 2 doctors of science, 9 associate professors and 7 assistants, 7 trainees. The general shortage of science is 50%.
03.00.06 - zoology, 03.00.08 - human and animal physiology are taught at the department in basic doctoral studies (PhD) and doctoral studies (DSc).


Achievements of our students
In the 2020-2021 academic year, Biybigul Berdambetova, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Biology, was awarded the state scholarship named after Berdak.

The winner of the "Student of the Year" competition in 2020 was G. Khodzhanova.
Biology student Khojanova Gulbanu is a participant in the International Festival of Craftsmen, which was held in 2019 among 180 countries of the world.

In 2022, she was awarded the Zulfiya Z. Maksudova State Prize.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, Zukhrakhon Maksudova, a 2nd year student of the Faculty of Biology, was awarded the Zulfiya State Prize.
The department carries out a number of effective works on the introduction of new pedagogical technologies in the educational process.
T oday, at our department, students study in the educational laboratory of zoology, plant physiology, human anatomy and physiology in accordance with modern requirements.
