Being proficient at foreign languages seems to be highly demanded these days. Therefore, some individuals suggest that youngsters be involved in language learning as early as possible. Despite realizing a few flows to this suggestion, I overall support it since it would be beneficial for children’s scholastic success and cultural knowledge.

Possibly, early language learning can pose some negative impacts on youngsters. One of them is that it might put extra pressure on children, because language acquisition can be somewhat challenging as they have to constantly acquire new words, grammatical structures and master their fluency and pronunciation. Such tasks require tremendous self-discipline and excellent time management skills, whose burden can be quite difficult to shoulder. This can ultimately trigger resentment or negative attitudes towards education later on. The second consequence is that youngsters might fall behind their classwork, such as creative or athletic classes, which tend to be crucial for both the mind and the body.

Nonetheless, should young minds learn a second language earlier, they can reap several benefits. To begin with, this can feed their brain. This is because, they have to practice a lot, which can boost their competence, multi-tasking and critical-thinking. Hence, children can improve their cognitive abilities. Additionally, children engaging in language learning usually display positive attitudes to the cultures associated with their second language, because it seems to reinforce cultural sensitivity in youngsters. This can hopefully lead to the increased harmony among various cultures.

In conclusion, learning a foreign language at a young age tends to be a common suggestion today. Although this can bring about reluctance to studying and a difficulty in keeping up with the classwork in youngsters, I feel that potential advantages, including excellent mental development and respect to other cultures, may clearly outweigh those drawbacks.
