My very first true achievement was being accepted to 38-Math and English specialized school. This achievement made me believe myself and my abilities to concur my dreams. This all happen When I was 4 grades. My older brother is the reason of me taking a special interest in this school. He is 5 years elder and was getting great opportunities from the school. Him and my parents were the main driving force behind my lifechanging decision. I had no clear goals and no interests in education. At my previous school, my parents use to get many complains over my low scholastic performance. Hearing such negative remarks about their son was very difficult for my parents, especially for my mother who was also a teacher at my school. I can only now realize that as adult how difficult it was for parents to hear such negative remarks about their son. After starting at my new school, I witnessed how my peers were actively engaged in classes and competing each other in every lesson. This gave me motivation to do better and to excel in my studies. Day after day I was becoming better and increasing in knowledge that, also, gave me different perspective. I was setting new goals for myself in order to grow even more, because at that point I had recognized what I needed to be successful in life. I started believing in my abilities. I started having a purpose. I ended up graduating from my school with honors.
In conclusion, being accepted to new school gave me distinct perspective to grow and I started studying hard to actively engage in each class. This decision was the point that changed me and made me believe in myself.
