Minimum Short Circuit Ratio (MSCR) 
The 
MSCR
method as detailed in AEMO’s System Strength Impact Assessment Guidelines is 
based on the following Premises
:
(a) The Available Fault Level after connection
 
of the proposed EG System is compared against 
the minimum SCR/fault level for which it is capable of stable operation.
(b) The headroom (or margin) between the two values (Distribution System Strength
 
versus the 
EG System’s requirements) provides an initial indication of the connection point
 
capability to 
host the EG System and, therefore, the likelihood of an 
adverse system strength impact 
as 
defined in System Strength Impact Assessment Guidelines.
