TQM in Higher Education İnstitutions 
Higher education institutions play an important constituents role for a country to 
develop culturally, economically, socially and politically. Having prior goals in the 
globalizing world stands as a crucial aim for a country. Therefore with a collective 
gaze, countries try their best to evaluate their systems, practices necessary actions 
successfully so as to foster quality and quantity of their higher education institutions. 
Henceforth, the study here executes the needs for quality studies and thereafter realizes

quality outputs. Over the last few years, Total Quality Management has been applied 
in the education industry.
TQM which is one of the essential competition tools that help us comprehend the 
adequacy of the services provided in higher education institutions and the necessity of 
measuring and evaluating the service quality. 
Higher education quality system is the whole of activities that include high quality 
services and reassuring audit ve valuation for meeting the needs of students in higher 
education. The universities which have main purpose of researching, transfer and 
refresh the information are use quality management philosophy and it is very important 
topic for preparing pf qualified and talented individuals. Because of these, determine 
and groving activities of quality level are contribute of operation and continuity of 
quality service in the higher education institutions. In this sense, the higher education 
institutions which have aim for to train qualified personnel with adoption and 
development of quality culture; It is an effective tool for changing the perceptions of 
the employer and the society, which are external stakeholders of the education and 
training service, in a positive way. 
Many higher education institutions have focused to quality enhancement works 
and established institutions for this quality works. Lots of countries as much as EU, 
USA, Russian Federation, Japan continue to institutionalization works for TQM in 
Higher Education Institutions. 
The Total Quality Management implementation works go on in Higher Education 
Institutions of the Republic of Turkey, also. Administrations of universities work on 
quality enhancement.
