What You Fear:
 heaven, or going to heaven
Real Reason to Fear It:
 You hate harps, or worry that having 
wings will only worsen your fear of fl ying (aviophobia).
Related Phobias:
 Zeusophobia (fear of God. Or gods. Or Zeus).
Noted Sufferers:
 Voltaire, maybe. On his deathbed, the En-
lightenment philosopher was asked to repudiate the devil. 
Voltaire responded, “Is this a time to be making enemies?”
Surprising Fact:
  that  anyone  would  be  afraid  of  heaven.  In 
fact, the vast majority of folks would qualify as uranophilics, 
or heaven lovers. And speaking of philias . . .
