Requirements

Spoken Interaction (Dialogue). Taking part in a dialogue dialogue related to etiquette (greeting, getting to know, introduction, saying good-bye politely, congratulation and thanking for congratulation, apology; dialogue – interrogation (ability to ask "who?", "what?", "when?", "where?", "where to?"); taking part in a dialogue – encouraging for action (requests, agreeing/disagreeing to requests) in various communication settings based on the topics defined for each grade of the beginner level.
Monologue. Developing skills and abilities: following basic speech etiquette norms, accepted in the target community; producing short, simple monologues: announcements and descriptions relying on pictures in the framework of the communicative settings based on the defined topics.

Reading	Use of reading rules and orthography while reading “aloud” short texts, containing not only learnt language material; «reading techniques» (correct stressing in words and phrases, appropriate intonation); reading «silently» and understanding short texts containing only learnt language material, as well as simple texts, containing certain new words, the meaning of which can be inferred by guessing or probable prognosis; reading for specific information (name of the main character, location).
Writing	Mastering graphics; calligraphy; writing the alphabet, combination of letters and sound-letter matches; copying out letters, combination of letters, words and word combinations, texts; copying out from texts words, word combinations and sentences; writing words and short sentences from typed texts and dictated by a teacher; writing based on sample postcards, short personal letters, filling in simple forms in the framework of communicative settings based on the content of speech.
