Requirements

Strategic (compensatory) competence – ability to compensate by special verbal/nonverbal means the insufficiency of language knowledge, as well as language and social experience of communication in a foreign language environment, dealing with difficulties in communication situations of misunderstanding by means of asking for clarification, repetition, apology etc.
Sociocultural competence referring to the knowledge of national features of authentic language behavior: traditions, rules, norms, social prejudicies, rituals, country specific knowledge and others and ability to present national-cultural features of own culture in comparison with the countries of the target language in FL.
Social competence which is reflected in forming and developing learners’ understanding of the importance of a FL in the modern multicultural world; raise learners’ awareness of the demand for using FL as a means of communication, cognition, self-realisation and social adaptation; shaping civil position of a patriot; the desire and ability for cultural dialogue through FL.
Study/learning competence presenting set of a learner’s competences in the sphere of autonomous learning of languages and cultures, which include elements of logical, methodological, study performance, associated with real objects of learning and with the use of modern educational technologies.
