  • 14 nieces and nephews (number 15 is due in April)

  • Attended baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, missionary farewells/homecomings for past students (27 and counting, 2007-present)

  • Help high school students apply for college scholarships, choose schools, prep them for admission tests, help them sign up for classes, etc. 2007-present

  • Attend dances, concerts, games and graduations to support students at various high schools I teach/taught at 2007-present

  • Participate in yearly luggage drive for foster children, yearly shoe drive, Adopt-a-Family (Thanksgiving and Christmas), support multiple teams and clubs in their fundraising endeavors at Campo Verde High School 2010-present

  • Green Club Sponsor – bring awareness to student body of the importance of caring for the Earth and using our resources wisely (est. 2014 at CVHS)

  • Archery Club Sponsor – give students who may not have the money to participate in other organized athletics the opportunity to compete throughout the state (est. 2014 at CVHS)

  • Donated over $5000 worth of items to The Upward Foundation and $500 to Goodwill - June 2014

-2 computers, 75+ pairs of shoes, 4 bags of clothes, crockpots, kitchen utensils, baking pans, board games, carpet, stuffed animals, books, DVD player, digital camera, 30+ books, vacuum, 15+ purses, toiletries, 10 basketballs, 16 landscape planters, 1 large dog kennel

-Participate in fundraisers and visiting local school and youth groups to raise awareness of disability issues

  • Arizona Project WET June 2013- Present (90+ hours)

-Develops water stewardship and STEM literacy by providing teacher professional development focused on 21st century skills, direct student outreach that delivers or extends classroom learning, and community engagement.

-Teachers in the program participate in a three-day summer academy and then subsequent training during the school year to prepare to lead their students through a year of inquiry about Arizona's water resources. The WIP was formalized, following pilot testing, through a partnership with The Nature Conservancy.

-Implement curriculum to help students understand how to better conserve water, where it comes from, etc.

-Students participate in an end of the year symposium to present their findings which requires research and much preparation



-Mentor to new teachers involved with Project WET at the Saturday workshops throughout the year (2014-2015 school year)

  • Participated in/donated to Cupids Undie Run each February (research for childhood cancer) for 2 years (I have only participated once - it is only 1.5 miles and many participants walk)

  • Supported the Gilbert Fire Department Toy Drive/Chili Cook Off each December (2011-2014)

  • Homeowner in Gilbert since March 2010

  • LDS Young Single Adult Fellowship Committee 2007-2008 (welcome new members or newcomers to our ward, include them in activities, be a friend, etc.)

  • Relief Society Visiting Teacher 2003-2010 (take food/goods to those in need, teach small gospel lessons each month, give service whenever possible, etc.)

  • Donated blood 4 times in the past 5 years (borderline anemic and must take iron pills for at least a week before donating)

  • Lived with my elderly grandparents to care for them and their small farm until it was necessary to put them in a home (2008-2010)

  • Build-a-Barn Service project with my family in September 2007

  • Worked with Habitat for Humanity through basketball programs in Durango, CO and Phoenix, AZ 2006-2010

  • Did mini basketball camps with the Boys and Girls Club on Williams Air Force Base 2009-2011

  • Found jobs for college athletes who were struggling to afford food - 2004-2011

  • Donated T-Shirts to aid the refugees from Hurricane Katrina in Phoenix with CGCC Basketball 2005

  • Tutored male and female athletes to help them be more successful in the classroom at CGCC and Fort Lewis College 2003-2011

  • Volunteered at summer basketball camps (10 days) for children 5-17 years of age from 2003-2011

  • Relay for Life at University of Arizona with Alpha Epsilon Delta, 2003-2005
