Present Simple Hozirgi oddiy zamon quyidagi holatlarda ishlatiladi

Bundan tashqari u hozirgi va kelasi zamon uchun turli ma’nolarda ishlatiladi:

1.Could-qila oladi(lekin qilmaydi,imkoniyatga ega)

For.ex: He could help us but doesn’t want to.- u bizga yordam bera oladi lekin xoxlamaydi.

2.Could-iltimosni ifodalaydi(hozirgi va kelasi zamon uchun)(Can ga qaraganda muloyimroq ohangda)

For.ex:Could you help me please?

Could you open the door please?

3.Could-kelajakdagi imkoniyatni ifodalaydi.

For.ex: When you go there, you could stay with Ted.-u yerga borganingda Ted bilan turishing mumkin. What shall we do in the evening? We could go to the cinema.

4.Could have done-qila olaredi(lekin qilmadi)qila olmadi o’tgan zamondagi imkoniyat.

For.ex: He didn’t want to help us but he could have helped us.-U bizga yordam berishi mumkin edi,lekin xohlamadi.

We didn’t go out last night. We could have gone to the cinema but we decided to stay at home.

Why did you stay at a hotel in New York ? You could have stayed with Ted.

Why didn’t John apply for the job? He could have got.

Football match was cancelled last week. Tom couldn’t have played anyway because he was ill.

Note: TO BE ABLE TO-qila olmoq,uddalamoq(bu modal fe’l maxsus vaziyat va holatlarda ishlatiladi)

For.ex: The fire spread through the old building very quickly but everyone was able to escape.

Bu modal ‘can’ning sinonimi bolib, farqi shuningdek, buni hamma zamonda ishlatish mumkin. I have not been able to sleep recently.

I am able to do it today=I can do it today

I was able to do it yesterday=I could do it yesterday.

I shall be able to do it tomorrow= I can do it tomorrow.
