go at, have a go at
At
has the general idea of two things, same place, same time. Go at has
two meanings that are similar but not exactly the same.
Go at somebody means to move right up to their faces. It's very
aggressive.
That rottweiler is dangerous. It just went at me.

And go at something means to attack a job, for example, very
aggressively, with lots of enthusiasm.
Steve know nothing about carpentry at first, but he went at it, and now he
has finished all the door frames of his new house.
We also say
go for
in the same two senses.

We also say have a go at something or someone. It's softer, less intense,
than go at.
That chihuahua is very bad-tempered. It just had a go at me.
(It tried to bite me.)
I had a go at learning Chinese, but I decided to give up after a few
months.
go away
When something or someone goes away, we don't see it again. With
some people and some problems, this is our dearest wish. We just want
them to go
away
. Sometimes we even tell them.
There are other, more intense, expressions for the same desire, but this is
a book for the whole family.
