Roll-away bed
Type of bed, usually designed for use by a single guest, that can easily be
transported from one guestroom to another. Typically referred to as roll-aways.
Room mix
Ratio of a hotel’s room types. For example, number of double-bedded rooms com-
pared to king-bedded rooms, number of smoking-permitted rooms compared to nonsmoking
rooms, and number of suites compared to standard rooms.
Room night
Single night use of a guestroom. A group using 10 rooms for 5 nights generates
50 room nights. The number is used as an indicator of group size and quantifies the
group’s importance to the hotel.
