For laboratory and in minor detail - laboratory trials, about three tests of slag of the 
reflective furnace and the FS furnace were selected. A lot of each test was about 20 kg. The first 
test represented, from itself, quickly cooled slag without special preparation. 
The second test represents slag in the coarse way of filling by a squirt in water. The third 
test represented slag in the roughform of filling by a fountain in limy milk (10% of Ca(OH)
2
). 
The fineness of the initial granules was from 8 to 25 mm. 
Then granulometric characteristics of copper smelting plant slags were in a detailed 
study. 
All slags were crushed to a fineness less than 1 mm; they averaged structure from each 
test. 
As reducer were used imported coke and coal of the Angren field. The reducer was 
crushed to a fineness less than 1 mm and averaged. 
As limy gumboil, it was used - the burned lime received at the limy plant Almalyk MMC. 
Limy gumboil was also crushed to a fineness less than 1 mm, averaged, and stored in 
tight ware for protection from absorption of moisture from the air. 
For each experience, hinge plates with a total weight of 1 kg, which were carefully 
averaged, were preparing. From the lump of a hinge plate of 800 grams arrived for conducting 
laboratory trials, the others (200 grams) went to the control chemical analysis on the main 
components: Cu, CaO, Fe
total
, SiO
2
, Al
2
O
3
, Sob for prevention of possible mistakes by drawing 
up furnace charge [3-7]. 
The research of low-temperature restoration of iron from slags of copper production was 
conducted on a complex of the laboratory installations including: 
- the rotating tubular electric furnace; system of supply of purified gas (nitrogen); 
- system of regulation of temperature; 
- the RF magnetic separator of the received magnetic fraction. 
The rotating laboratory furnace is supplied with the system of stabilization of speed of 
rotation and temperature. In detail, this system has also discussed the application. 
The following indicators vary: 
initial material
- blending of initial material;
- hold time;
- temperature. 
The received restored chilled material - is crushed and divided into three parts directed to 
the chemical analysis after quartation of the research on the magnetometer for the definition of 
iron metal. Other materials are destroyed and are exposed to magnetic separation for allocation 
of the metal fraction. 
The magnetometer is tared on the definition of iron on a mix of iron powder and the 
crushed quartz gumboil. The use of slag for calibrating is excluded because of the collateral 
influence of magnetite. 
After magnetic separation (see Fig.1), the fraction with contents > 80% of Fe - metal is 
melted in the inert atmosphere. 
Thus, the technique allows to estimate parameters of two options: 
- restoration - separation; 
- melting of metal fraction
- restoration - melting;
