Rate (special event) Temporary increase in rack rate based on a specific event such as a
concert, sporting event, or holiday. Sometimes known as super or premium rack. Examples
are rates for rooms during New Year’s Eve in Manhattan and during Super bowl weekend
in the host city.
Rate integrity (parity) Degree to which a hotel’s room rates are comparable regardless of
the distribution channel on which they are found. Sometimes called rate parity or another
term that implies rate consistency.
Rate resistance Refusal to make a reservation because the rate quoted is perceived to be
too high.
Rate type Single (unique) rate for a specific type of room that is programmed into a hotel’s
PMS.
