RECORDS AND ACCOUNTS MANAGEMENT
The fourth of the four Rs of front office information management involves
records and accounts, as noted in Roadmap 6. Like reservations, rooms, and rev-
enue management, in all but the smallest properties, the management of a hotel’s
records and financial accounts can only be done effectively with a modern PMS.
Records Management
It might seem that FOMs who regularly review PMS data related to their reserva-
tions, rooms, and revenues will have considered all the facts necessary to make major
decisions. In fact, the PMS generates much information that is not directly related to
these topics but is often critical to management decision making. The best PMS pro-
vides this additional and valuable information in timely and easy-to-review formats
and reports.
