FRONT OFFICE : HUB OF THE HOTEL
Due to severe weather conditions, hotel management requires that all guests and
employees report immediately to the (name of area). Please go calmly and
quietly, and a hotel representative will direct you further. Thank you.
A list of all occupied guestrooms should be obtained from the front desk and
given to members of the housekeeping, front desk, and security departments who
should go to each room to make sure that they are evacuated. The manager on duty
should inform security officers and other hotel staff to direct guests to the proper,
predetermined location. Guests should be instructed to sit cross-legged against the
walls with their arms over their heads.
At least one front desk agent should remain at the telephone console for as long
as it is safe to do so to handle any communications needs. Other front desk personnel
should go to the prearranged emergency location. If evacuation becomes necessary
during the night shift, the night auditor should pull the alarm, phone the fire and
police departments, secure the cash drawer and guest folio bucket, and remain at the
phone for as long as safely possible.
