INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES OF TEACHING A FOREIGN 
LANGUAGE AT THE UNIVERSITY 
Annotation: The purpose of this article: to identify and reveal the educational 
possibilities of using innovative technologies in teaching a foreign language. 
Key words: technology; learning technology; technological approach to 
training; signs of learning technology; generalized pedagogical technologies: 
purpose, essence, mechanism of teaching technology; signs of learning 
technology; modular training; module 
In the 21st century, there has been a steady tendency towards reorientation of 
the higher education system to new values, where the humanization of the 
pedagogical process and the democratization of interpersonal relations began to be 
put at the forefront [2]. Today, a graduate of a higher school must be competitive, in 
demand in the labor market, which a priori presupposes a high level of his general 
development, possession of information and communication competence, high 
professionalism, the ability to make independent decisions, non-standard thinking and

productive adaptation to changing conditions [1]. All this leads to the fact that at 
present pedagogical activity should be innovative, which is one of the essential 
factors in the successful educational activity of any educational institution. The 
reality is that it is innovative activity, on the one hand, that creates the basis for 
creating the competitiveness of an institution in the educational services market, on 
the other, it determines the directions of professional growth of teaching staff, 
creative search for each teacher, which really contributes to the personal growth of 
students [5]. 
In this regard, in recent years, the use of information technologies in the 
university has increasingly begun to expand, representing not only modern technical 
means, but also new approaches to the learning process. This is due to the main goal 
of teaching foreign languages: the formation and development of the communicative 
culture of students, their practical mastery of a foreign language. The task of the 
university teacher is to create all conditions for the practical mastery of the language 
by each student. This presupposes the choice of teaching methods that would allow 
him to show his activity and his creativity. This is the goal of modern innovative 
technologies associated with the use of various information technologies and Internet 
resources. 
Research methods: theoretical analysis of psychological and pedagogical 
literature on the problem of using innovative technologies in teaching a foreign 
language; study and generalization of best practices; observation.
