Rules, Eligibility and Event Classification

• 
  This regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in Racing Rules of Sailing.
  
• 
  The regatta is open to all sailors of Liberty, Liberty Servo, 303, and 2.3 Access Dinghy Classes.
  
• 
  Advertising is restricted to Category A.
  
• 
  RRS 40 is changed: All competitors are required to wear a life jacket or other adequate personal floatation device while racing; the Y flag will not be displayed.
  

Entries, Registration, Competitors’ Briefing

•

  Skippers unable to access the registration website may register by emailing [e-mail] or leaving a message at 415 281 0212.

  Registration requests shall include the skipper’s first and last name and the desired boat class: Liberty, Liberty Servo, 303, or 2.3 Access Dinghy Classes.
  
• 
  Boats will be provided by BAADS.
  
• 
  The Regatta Organizing Committee has sole discretion for assigning boats and who will sail if not enough boats are available to satisfy demand.
  
• 
  Mandatory Skippers Meeting will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 1000 hours at South Beach Yacht Club.
  
• 
  Registration and boat assignment will be made at the mandatory Skippers Meeting on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 1000 hours.
  

• 
  Entry Form and Liability Release Form are attached, available by request to [e-mail], and will be available at South Beach Yacht Club on October 20, 2012 by 1000 hours. Skippers should send in completed forms as soon as possible, but in no case later than the end of the Skippers Meeting.
  
• 
  Entry Fee is $60 Payable to BAADS. Note that the fee may be waived with proof of hardship.

  BAADS welcomes donations.
  

Sailing Instructions

• 
  The Sailing Instructions will be available at the Skippers Meeting.
  
• 
  Changes to the Sailing Instructions will be posted on the official notice board located in the south window of SBYC no later than 1100 hours on October 20, 2012.
  
  
  

Racing Area and Courses

• 
  Race Area MAY be in and near China Basin informally knows as McCovey Cove OR between Pier 38 and Pier 32 adjacent to the South Beach Harbor in the Southern part of San Francisco Bay.
  
• 
  Courses will be windward leeward with temporary marks and will be distributed at the Skippers Meeting as a change to the Sailing Instructions.
  

Schedule of Races

• 
  Five races are scheduled for October 20, 2012.
  
• 
  Four races are scheduled for October 21, 2012.
  
• 
  The schedule for the first warning signal is 1300 hours on Saturday October 20 and Sunday October 21.
  

Scoring

• 
  One race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
  
• 
  When four or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her one worst score.
  
• 
  This changes Appendix A.2.
  

Trophies will be awarded as follows:

• 
  Liberty Class: First, Second and Third Places -- Standard Division
  
• 
  Liberty Class: First, Second and Third Places -- Servo Division
  
• 
  303 Class: First, Second and Third Places
  
• 
  2.3 Class: First, Second and Third Places
  

Hospitality

• 
  Coffee, snacks, etc. will be available prior to registration and the skippers meeting at 10 a.m. on the SBYC deck.
  
• 
  Refreshments will be available at SBYC at the Award Presentation following the last race on October 21, 2012.
  

• 
  Skippers, their crew and guests are invited to SBYC after the regatta.
