Psychological determinants of rational decision making in political voting 
situations
The present research is devoted to a problem of rational decision making in 
political voting situation. The specific cognitive, personality and regulation aspects 
of rationality of decision making were investigated. To study the individual features 
of rationality the experimental model “Political voting” was created. There were 
marked out two different groups of subjects (electorate) — with high rationality level 
and with high emotionality level of decision making. The specific psychological 
differences in conscious self-regulation system, personality traits and intelligence 
level between “rational” and “emotional” voters were described. There were also 
revealed the psychological determinants of subject’s rationality while decision 
making.

Саморегуляция психических состояний как фактор социальной адапта-
ции субъекта
Статья посвящена изучению влияния социальной среды (малых и больших 
социальных групп) на психические состояния и способы их саморегуляции. 
Последние рассматриваются как результат адаптации субъекта к сложившим-
ся особенностям жизнедеятельности в той или иной социальной группе. Полу-
чены результаты, свидетельствующие об специфике саморегуляции психичес-
ких состояний в семье, малой производственной группе и больших этнических 
группах.

Self-regulation of mental states as the factor of subject’s social adaptation
The article is dedicated to influence studying of social environment ( small and 
large social groups) on mental states and methods of self-regulation. The last are consid-
ered as a result of subject`s adaptation to the formed peculiarities of life`s work in one or 
another social group. The results are received that evidently indicate specific self-regu-
lation of mental states in the family, a small industrial group and large ethnic groups.
