FOAM FORMING ABILITY OF NEW COMPLEX SURFACE-ACTIVE

One of the main directions of economic development of our country today is the
creation of new technologies for finding and processing of natural resources. It is also
very urgent efficiently use of local raw materials for making competitive, import-
substituting and export-oriented new products and materials. In this regard, it is very
important to obtain highly effective chemicals including surfactants and their
compositions based on local raw materials for the recovery of oil from wells.In this
regard cotton oil acids from the oil production plant are very useful for synthesis of
surfactants. Effective use of cotton oil acids made from cottonseed oil and obtaining
new high-performance surfactants from it is very relevant and of great importance.
From an analysis of the literature published in recent years, it is known that on the
basis of this secondary product we can obtain multifunctional, new surfactants of
different structure with very high activity. In this research work we synthesized new
complex surfactants with a high surface activity based on local raw materials -cotton
oil acids. In order to determine the areas and ways of application of the newly
obtained surfactants, we studied the foaming abilities of aqueous solutions of new
surfactants.
The foaming ability of the newly obtained surfactant was studied in relation to
the time, concentrationand temperature of the solution. Aqueous solutions of the
surfactant were initially taken in a volume of 100 ml and shaken for 1 min. Stability
of the formed foam by surfactant solution was observed at 1 min, 3 min, and 5 min
after shaking. Table 1 below shows the change in the foaming ability of the new
surface-active substance depending on the concentration, time and temperature of the
solution. According to the results obtained (Table 1), foams formed from 1.10-1.25%
aqueous solutions of the new surfactant showedvery good stability. Aqueous
solutions of the new surfactant with concentrations equal and higher than 2.5%
formed foams with a very high stability. From the obtained results of foam forming
ability of aqueous solutions of the new surfactant with different concentrations at
different temperatures, we can see that the stability of the foams formed from
surfactant solutions has increased when we moved from low-concentrations to high-
concentrations of the surfactant solutions.
