стилистические средства в официально-деловых документах и общественно-

Socio-political translation is one of the most popular translations due to the 
increasing intensity of international contacts and in connection with the policy of 
Uzbekistan's integration into the European and world political, economic and social 
space, which determines the relevance of the choosen topic. The relevance of this topic

also lies in the fact that in modern conditions the translation of socio-political texts is 
of particular importance, acting as a means of propaganda and an instrument of 
ideological struggle. The volume of social and political texts published annually, 
oriented to a foreign-language (English-speaking) audience, is quite large and, as 
international relations grow, continues to increase. Here are the speeches of state, party 
and public figures; publications of international, governmental and public 
organizations.
The tasks related to the topic "features of the translation of socio-political texts" 
are to convey and show the methods and means of transmitting information that the 
translator uses in a socio-political text, in which not a simple transmission is brought 
to the fore or which is not considered from the point of view of its aesthetic value, but 
where the axiological aspect of its content is revealed. 
The political sphere appeared with the emergence of human society and will 
always accompany its development in one form or another. The study of political 
science provides the key to understanding political institutions and movements, as well 
as politics itself. Of great importance for understanding the nature of politics and the 
state is the political sphere. Playing an important role in the life of society, the political 
sphere attracts the attention of representatives of various social sciences-economic 
theory, law, sociology, psychology, as well as linguists, in particular- linguists-
translators [10]. In modern conditions, the translation of socio-political texts is of 
particular importance, acting as a means of propaganda and an instrument of political 
struggle. The volume of annually published social and political texts aimed at the 
English-speaking audience is quite large and continues to increase as international 
relations grow [3]. These are speeches of state, party and public figures; publications 
of international, governmental and public organizations; articles on the struggle for 
peace, the détente of international conflicts, the reduction of araments, the national 
liberation movement and economic relations. The object of socio-political translation 
is socio-political and journalistic texts, which are characterized by a propagandistic or 
agitational setting, and therefore, a bright emotional coloring along with a great 
saturation with various terminology.

E.I. Sheigal identifies the following types of strategies in political discourse: 
1) a strategy of veiling, obscuring unwanted information (allows you to suppress, 
make unpleasant facts less obvious); 
2) the strategy of mystification (concealment of the truth, deliberate 
misrepresentation); 
3) anonymization (depersonalization) strategy as a withdrawal technique 
responsibility (Sheigal, 2000: 39). 
In terms of achieving adequacy, this type of translation has the features of both 
literary and special translation. Socio-political materials are very diverse in stylistic 
and genre terms. In general terms, they can be divided into three groups: 1) 
documentary business materials (constitutions and legislative acts); 2) informative and 
descriptive materials (informational notes, reference materials, historical descriptions 
and reviews, etc.); 3) journalistic materials in the narrow sense of the word (speeches, 
articles, etc.) [7]. Each of these groups of materials has its own special vocabulary, so 
documentary and business materials are characterized by a large number of clichés, 
special terminology, and realities; informational and descriptive materials are 
associated with reports on current events, respectively, they contain many terms, 
historical realities, proper names, etc.; journalism is characterized by an abundance of 
emotionally colored elements, figurative expressions, syntactic figures, quotations, etc. 
Accordingly, it should be noted that when translating, it is very important to identify 
and convey the adequate meaning, as well as the expressive features of the text.
