FOREIGN LANGUAGES»

This article is about the use of modern technologies in learning foreign
languages.

reforms
The reforms being carried out in all spheres in our country will have a direct and
indirect impact on the training, retraining and improvement of their pedagogical
professional skills in the system of continuing education. Because the changes in the
socio-economic life, the education system have an impact on the goals and objectives,
content, structure of the professional pedagogical activity of teachers working in all
sectors of the system of continuing education. Therefore, teachers working in
educational institutions will need to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities in
line with modern changes.
At the current stage of educational reform, major changes are associated with the
introduction of information and communication technologies in the educational
process, and the implementation of reforms is carried out through the solution of
tactical, methodological and organizational tasks. It is the use of information and
communication technologies that allows the modern education system to resolve the
808
conflict between the rapid pace of knowledge in the world and the limited opportunities
for their assimilation by the individual.
The interactive learning process between teacher and student is computer-
assisted, often against the passive acquisition of knowledge when the acquired
knowledge is of the most active nature. However, an interactive learning environment,
the basis of which is computer-based communication, changes not only the
communication structure but also the traditional communication features. As for the
capabilities of infocommunication technology tools in terms of the means of defining
the linguistic and professional tasks of a linguist, researchers have not yet made a clear
assessment of the capabilities of a computer working as a teacher in a foreign language
teaching process. Some argue that the computer can perform all the basic and auxiliary
functions of the reader, while others reject this view. Most experts in computer
lingvodidactics say that a computer that performs a number of learning functions
cannot completely replace a foreign language teacher because aspects related to the
teacher’s work cannot be fully imitated on a computer.
Language is one of the important elements influencing international
communication activities. Students use different parts of their English language skills,
such as listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. One of the important elements
for language learning is the method that teachers use to facilitate the language learning
process in their lessons. Computers are seen as an important learning tool in language
lessons that teachers have easy access to, are adequately trained, and have some
freedom in the curriculum. Computer technology is an important part of high quality
education by many teachers. Researchers have noted that the use of appropriate
technologies can be beneficial for students. Computer-based learning improves
cooperative learning in students. They continue to encourage students to learn more
about Internet materials. With the help of technology, students can be provided with a
lot of original materials and they will be the basis for learning the language.
Technology has always been an important part of the teaching and learning
environment. It is an integral part of the teaching profession and can be used to make
809
it easier for students to read through them. When it comes to teaching and learning
technologies, the word “integration” is used. That is, technology becomes an integral
part of the learning experience and an important issue for teachers from the beginning
of the preparation of the learning experience to the teaching and learning process. The
use of technology helps students acquire knowledge based on their interests, and this
also increases students ’ability to see and hear.
In general, it should be noted that the theoretical issues of the introduction of
computers in foreign languages in the educational process is a new field of science,
which is considered as an independent branch of didactics and methods of language
teaching - computer linguistics. The use of multimedia and hypermedia features of
infocommunication technologies plays an important role in modern methods of
teaching foreign languages. The diversity of current methods of teaching a foreign
language in different educational institutions allows the use of all types of textbooks,
including computer-based e-courses. It can be said that at present there are different
options for the use of infocommunication technologies in both foreign language classes
and whole courses.
Some important issues related to the use of technology in language learning were
discussed. Technology resources cannot guarantee teacher learning and student
learning. Teachers need to be convinced of the benefits and advantages of technology
in improving students ’knowledge. When technology is used properly, it can bring a
lot of benefits to teachers and students. It is a resource that can be used by students as
it helps them solve learning problems and find ways to apply what they have learned
in an effective and meaningful way. In addition, the use of technology plays an
important role in language learning based on their speed, promotes self-awareness,
does not interrupt interaction with the teacher, and is effective in learners. creates a
high level of opportunity for learning. Technology provides interaction between
teachers and students, helps students develop thinking skills, makes reading and
learning the focus of students, ensures student autonomy, and helps them, increases
students' interest in learning a foreign language effectively.
