THE AGRI-FOOD MARKET

The infrastructure of the agri-food market plays an important role in ensuring timely and 
high-quality delivery of agricultural products from producer to consumer. The qualitative and 
quantitative development of the market infrastructure is becoming an objective factor in the 
development of the modern national agricultural sector and market economy. However, the 
development of infrastructure requires large capital investments, which are not enough for the main 
subjects of the market (farms and dekhkan farms, agricultural organizations, food industry 
enterprises, etc.). As a rule, large-scale infrastructure projects are created within the framework of a 
long-term and mutually beneficial partnership between the state and private business. 
Studying the foreign experience of countries with established traditions and long experience 
in organizing, supporting and regulating the formation and development of infrastructure, in 
particular, marketing and information subsystems, becomes especially important in the light of the

implementation of the Agriculture Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030, one of the 
strategic directions which is the creation of a favorable agribusiness climate and value chains [1]. 
In many countries (Germany, Great Britain, Denmark, Poland, the Netherlands, China, the 
USA, etc.), the effective functioning of the agri-food market is associated with the development of a 
network of wholesale agricultural and food markets (WFM). 
Information systems are an important element of WFM. So in Italy, Poland, France and Spain, 
information systems are united both within the borders of the state and between states, which, in 
turn, creates an international WFM system [2, p. 373]. National wholesale food markets supply 
agricultural products to the population of not only their own country, but also foreign countries, 
being a place of export-import operations. 
WFM systems have the status of national importance in Spain and France, and a national 
system of central whole food markets was created in Japan, which functions on the basis of 
economic and mathematical modeling of the actions of agricultural producers, distribution and trade 
centers, marketing cooperatives and central urban markets [3, p. 42]. 
The system of centralized management of food commodity flows from suppliers of 
agricultural raw materials to retail trade organizations in many foreign countries functions through 
distribution centers at wholesale enterprises using information technologies, open electronic 
platforms (in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan), wholesale food exchanges [2, p. 374].
