Lecture 1: General problems of Foreign Language teaching

"A personal zone" of responsibility and motivation of the students increases. This technique provides the active work of all members of the class, creating the partnership relations. Using this technique we should follow the methodical instructions:
1. Divide the class into cooperative groups and distributes the material. Every member of the group has an extract for study and presentation.
2. Expert small groups study the same material and prepare its presentation.
An expert group - is a group student who have the identical tasks. Then the members of two groups meet, read and study the material and plan the effective ways of its presentation and ask control questions for checking up if their fellow- students have understood everything or have not.
3. The students come back to the cooperative groups for mutual teaching and control. Then they get acquainted each other with the studied material. The main task of the groups is to understand the whole text.
4. Individual and group work. Each member of the group should master the whole material. The teacher can ask questions, give the tasks to complete the control work in written form, give the presentation of the material to check up the knowledge of the students.
Insert. This technique is Directed to the checking of the students understanding of the information, using the interactive system of marks in the form of a table.

The marks means; V - denotes that what you read corresponds to what you know; (-) - minus means that what you read contradict to your knowledge; (+) plus means that what you read is new for you; (?) question mark is put when you don't understand the information you read.
