How to Get Employees Out of Their Comfort Zone
•
Start small. For example, if an employee is afraid of 
speaking in public, ask him or her to prepare a five-
minute weekly update at the next staff meeting. Don’t ask 
him or her to give a presentation to the entire 
organization right off the bat.
•
Team a less experienced/skilled employee with someone 
more experienced/skilled in that particular area.
•
Make it okay to make mistakes.
•
Remind them that it’s okay to ask for help.
•
Be an example—be willing to step out of your own 
comfort zone.
