The fourth chapter deals with the political, socio-economic and cultural situation of Uzbekistan during the Soviet era. In this section, the students will be covered by the Soviet authorities, their policies, and the secular system. Great attention is paid to the contribution of the Uzbek people to the Victory over the Fascist World War II. The Soviets are explaining the causes of the political, socio-economic crisis in the 1970s and 1980s, its essence and its consequences. Without understanding the processes taking place in the Soviet era, students are unaware of the importance of the independence of Uzbekistan in 1991.

The fifth chapter deals with the way Uzbekistan has taken in the years of independence, its political, economic and social reforms and its results. It focuses on building a democratic state and civil society in Uzbekistan.

At the same time, economic reforms carried out during the years of independence, its main directions, deep structural changes in the economy are disclosed. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M.Mirziyoev will address the issues of further acceleration of socio-economic reforms, further development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021, its strategy, its essence, goals and tasks.
