CLASSROOM INTEGRATION OF COMPUTERS

Reading and writing are such interrelated language processes that they may be 
taught together as one process, using the same steps to accomplish respective goals. 
The computer simulates human language processing. Teachers may use the process 
model in the classroom and design their lesson plans according to the model. 
These are the steps in the processes of reading and writing: 
Step 1: Preparation

Problem solving and establishing purpose 

Trying background knowledge and experience 

Data gathering and brainstorming 

Social exchange and motivating 

Language generation and recognizing audience 
Step 2: Implementation
. It includes
 
interacting actively in processing language 
(i.e., reading and writing).
Step 3: Application. 
Applying new concepts.
It is easy to get excited about the use of computers, but caution is needed in 
integrating technology into a traditional curriculum. First of all, one finds that the 
"traditional curriculum" changes. The new technology alters the nature of what we 
have traditionally taught and the ways we have taught it. Traditional instruction tends 
to be limited to problem solving. It tends to emphasize passive receptivity by students 
rather than active interaction. Use of different software varies problem solving, 
conducts learners through a process of learning and is highly interactive. 
Teachers must be aware of sound instructional principles in using computer 
programs. There can be a problem of overly rigid instructional design, so
