This article discusses the Surkhandarya region of Central 
Asia, which is famous for its history, cultural heritage and nature, as well as its 
attractions.

Main part 
Surkhandarya region is a region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is 
located in the southernmost part of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is also 
located in the southernmost part of Central Asia, which has a dry 
subtropical climate. The relief of the region consists mainly of mountains and 
plains. There are many rivers in Surkhandarya. The Amudarya is the largest 
river. It is bordered by Afghanistan along the Amudarya to the south, 
Tajikistan to the north, northeast and east, Turkmenistan to the southwest, 
and Kashkadarya Province to the northwest. Its area is 20.1 thousand km2. 
Nature. The relief of Surkhandarya region consists of mountains and 
plains, sloping and expanding from north to south. Numerous rivers and 
streams flowing from the mountains formed ravines. The plain, which flows 
into the Surkhandarya and Sherabadarya rivers, is bounded on the north, 
west, and east by the high Gissar ridge (4643 m at its highest point) and its 
tributaries (Boysuntog, Kohitang, Bobotag). The climate of the plains is dry 
subtropical. Summers are hot and long, winters are warm and short. The 
average annual temperature is 16-18 C. The average temperature in July is 
28-32, in January 2.8-3.6. The hottest temperature in Uzbekistan is also 
observed in this region. (June 21, 1914 in Termez was 49.50 C). With a 
population of over 2.5 million, it is home to more than 100 nationalities. 
Favorable climatic conditions and absolutely fertile lands create ample 
opportunities for its early development by the ancient people in this region,
