types of tourism, active recreation. "Tourism is the departure of an individual from a 
place of permanent residence for health, educational, professional or other purposes 
(in the country) without engaging in paid activities." Researcher Sh. Roziyev 
describes the concepts, methods and indicative management methods used to improve 
the organizational and economic mechanism of historical and cultural tourism, which 
integrates the subjects of tourism

. According to economist Khamidov, ―Tourism is a 
complex, multifaceted concept, which ... is the effective use of rich and diverse 
nature, cultural and historical sites through observation on the basis of nature 
protection and environmental safety and determines the directions. ‖

Historical tourism is the most common type of active tourism. It covers all types 
of tourism for educational and informational purposes. Such tourism programs are 
based on humanity‘s interest in various natural historical and cultural heritages. In 
this case, the tourist product is offered in the form of cultural experiments. Ethnic and 
ethnographic tourism can be considered as a unique historical and cultural tourism, 
which is closer to ecological tourism in terms of its goals (preservation, non-harm). 
That is why tourism is the best way to get acquainted with other cultures, with the 
history and life of other peoples, with works of art. Getting acquainted with the 
history, culture and customs of another country enriches one's spiritual world. One of 
the important advantages of historical and cultural tourism over other types of 
recreation is that it is in demand all year round and the difference is not seasonal. 
However, the most important of them are included in the list of objects and 
monuments of international scale. Such a list is determined annually by UNESCO. In 
recent years, international experts of this structure have been widely involved in the 
protection of unique cultural heritage sites in the territory of Uzbekistan, the 
development of master plans and management plans of historic cities in accordance 
with UNESCO international standards and requirements. In close cooperation with 
UNESCO, various international conferences on the protection of tangible and 
intangible heritage are being organized. These measures allow to rationally organize 
and manage the protection of cultural monuments, to consider current issues in this 
area, to study international experience, to improve the national system for the 
preservation of historical and cultural heritage, to identify key areas of activity of 
governmental and non-governmental organizations.
