Uzbekistan proclaimed it’s independence on the 31 August 1991 and since that time the life of our people has changed greatly. There are a lot of challenges for everybody and the life of the young generation is very interesting and exciting. Now there are so many national sport competitions like the Tashkent Open tennis championship held every year and the national Kurash championship these attract people from different countries to come and join young Uzbek sportsmen and women.
One thing is especially good for school children is that they have the opportunity to study their school subjects using new textbooks written in Uzbekistan.
The whole face of the country has become different. There are so many new multi storey buildings, banks , squares and other important sights.
And in almost every city, if you are in the centre, it is very difficult to tell that you are in the heart of Ancient Central Asia because many of the buildings are modern.

Sights of Uzbekistan
Like any other country Uzbekistan has many faces and each of them shows something unusal about the nation .Every city and region has something that you will not find
in the other parts of the country.
Samarkand is famous for it’s round patir bread, which can stay fresh for several weeks.
Namangan’s apples are the best because it is sunny almost all
the year.
Khiva is popular with it’s carpets, which are handmade and
therefore very expencive, even in other countries.
Zeravshan has the best quality gold.
Tashkent has the biggest bazaars.
But wherever you go you will find very hospitable people and
you will eat the main dish of Uzbek people- plov.
Some people say Alexander the Great’s cook was the first
person to cook palov, but another one’s say that Avicena
made the first palov.
Samarkand is one of the ancient cities of the world. Many centuries ago, it was a centre
of ancient civilization and the seat of historical and cultural traditions of the peoples
of Central Asia.
Samarkand region is the place where all the tourists go when they visit Uzbekistan.
This is because all the famous historical buildings and monuments are there.

The fourth principle, social policies should be very strong.
