Проблема «принципа защиты» в китайском речевом этикете 
 
Принцип вежливости является одним из главных звеньев изучения прагматики. В насто-
ящее время исследования принципа вежливости в китайской речевой коммуникации главным 
образом основываются на теории Гу Юэго о шести максимах вежливости. В данной статье с по-
мощью анализа конкретных речевых ситуаций выделяется еще один из главных принципов веж-
ливости в китайском речевом этикете – «принцип защиты». Поясняется, в каких ситуациях и по-
чему может нарушаться максима согласия как результат влияния более сильного принципа за-
щиты. Китайский речевой этикет – это сложное явление, принцип защиты постоянно сталкива-
ется с разного рода ограничениями, – такими, как контекст, знания и культурный фон собесед-
ников, их социальное положение. Поэтому использование принципа защиты в процессе комму-
никации в первую очередь зависит от сохранения коммуникантами «лица» (то есть репутации, 
достоинства) собеседника

The “Principle of Protection” as Part of the Chinese Speech Etiquette 
 
The Principle of protection is one of the chief aspects of studying pragmatics. The recent studies of 
this principle in Chinese verbal communication are mainly based on Gu Yueguo’s theory of six maxims of 
politeness. The author of this paper suggests yet another principle – that of “protection” and illustrates it by 
discussing typical communicative situations. The author explains when and why the maxim of agreement can 
be violated under the influence of the more important principle of protection. The Chinese speech etiquette is 
a complicated phenomenon, and the principle of protection keeps confronting various limitations, – such as 
the communicative context, the background cultural awareness of the interlocutors, as well as their respec-
tive social rank. That is why the use of the “protection” principle in communication depends, above all, on 
protecting the communicants’ sense of dignity and self-respect.
