Work
I recently finished school and now want to get into university. Moreover, my parents run a hotel where I work as a receptionist after my studies.
I had worked for two years at school as an English teacher before I took a maternal leave.
I chose to work as a receptionist because it a very interesting job which involves communicating with people coming from different parts of the world. It is a great opportunity for to master my English language skills.
The tourism industry has been developing rapidly over the last ten years. My city, Bukhara, has always been a popular tourist destination and therefore, we have a large number of hotels and guest houses which require qualified personnel, especially receptionists with the knowledge of foreign languages. That`s why, I believe, it is one the most popular jobs in my city.
I do like my job because it involves getting acquainted with new people with different cultural backgrounds. However, I have to admit that this job can be a bit challenging at times because there some people who can be rude and like to complain for no reason.
I have quite friendly relationships with my colleagues. They all are very nice and understanding people who can offer an unconditional help whenever necessary.
I clearly remember my first day at work. I was quite worried because I had never talked to a foreigner in English. My first guest an Englishman from London who was very kind. He even complimented me on my English.
My main responsibility is checking guests in and out. Moreover, I am responsible for ordering cabs and answering phone calls.
To be honest, even though I like my current job very much, I would like to become a tour guide and show tourist around the city. I think working as a guide is more interesting and fun.
Well, I don`t see myself working as a hotel receptionist once I have got into university. Because I will have to concentrate on my studies to become a good specialist to be able to advance in my career path. A part-time job, on the other hand, would distract me and might lead to poor academic progress.
Study
I recently finished school and I want to get into Westminster University and specialize in Business Administration.
I graduated from Bukhara State University 4 years ago. But I want to proceed with a master`s degree in Business Administration.
I want to set up my own business in the tourism and service sphere. Therefore, I want to study economics, management, marketing and other disciplines that will help me to become a successful businessman in the long term.
Private businesses are becoming increasingly popular in our country. The vast majority of young people want to be successful entrepreneurs and, for this reason, it is imperative that they study business-related subjects such as marketing, management and economics. So, these subjects must be quite popular, I believe.
I have always been interested in business. Running a company, leading your employees and learning new marketing techniques, all of which are helpful to boast your business, have always been interesting to me and I am keen on learning them with great enthusiasm.
