LESSON PLAN
Topic: You can’t miss it. Gr: Asking for/giving directions
Level: pre- intermediate
Objectives: develop students’s conversation skills in English
Time: 80 minutes
Materials: text book handouts, board and a computer, pictures, marker
Warm up: Ice-braker speaking activity
Objectives: to prepare students for the lesson, activate their background knowledge in top-own processing
Time: 10 minutes
Materials: text –book, board and the chalk
Mode of interaction: whole class
Use the photos to lead in to the lesson. Ss cover the texts and look at the photo s. Ask: Do you know this place? Don't elicit or tell them more than the name. Then ask the questions below (or write them on the board) and give the alternative answers. Ss discuss each answer in pairs and write it down (the correct answers are underlined below).

  1. Thelaguaru Falls areontheborder of whichcountries? Brazil, Peru, Argentina?

  2. How many falls are there - 275 or 157?

  3. How high the highest fall - 64 or 82 metres?

  4. Are they bigger or smaller than the Niagara Falls?

Check answers and elicit anything else Ss know about the falls. Show them a map of the area if possible.
