Objectives: to prepare students for the lesson, activate their background knowledge in top-own processing

Materials: text –book, board and the chalk
Mode of interaction: whole class
Show Ss the photos you've brought of different kinds of holiday/ holiday activities. If you haven't got any photos, elicit ten different kinds of holiday and write them on the board. Ss work in pairs/ groups, describe each type of holiday and then choose two they like and two they don't like. In feedba ck, elicit and discuss the three most/ le ast popular types of holiday.

Activity - 1

Objective: to improve Students’ listening comprehention to listen and notice the stress
Time: 25 minutes.
Materials: copies of the text from the book as handouts
Mode of interaction: group work and pair work
Procedure: Ss should listen to the words first. Tell them that they should listen and notice the stress each time. They then listen, repeat and underline the stress in each word.
