Aims and Summary
The course aims to develop a critical understanding of the principles and practice of marketing. It will examine
marketing value and purpose across a range of contexts, including the private and public sectors both in a
service and a global context.
The course is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of marketing concepts including
environmental analysis, buyer behaviour, strategic market segmentation, targeting and positioning, and the
design of marketing mixes. Students will need to undertake a critical analysis of these concepts by applying
them to different marketing contexts.
