Activity 5 Look and do.
Objective: to do physical exercise and energise the pupils with the numbers 1-10 and 10-1
Look at Unit 1, Lesson 2, Activity 4 for instructions.

V. Homework: Explain to the pupils that at home they should remember the 7 colours (red, yellow, green, blue, pink, black, brown) they learnt during the previous lessons and then try to use these colours while painting the pictures on the right hand page.

While counting from 1 to 10, the pupils develop automatic memorization of numbers one after another. Therefore, ask the pupils to learn to count from 1 to 10 and backwards from 10 to 1. You need to reverse your hand movements accordingly. Say the numbers with a clear, loud voice so that the pupils will start to count with you.

Lesson 2 I have a friend.

The aim of the lesson:

Developing: – to enable pupils to speak about a friend and colours
Socio-cultural: – to raise awareness of the ways of speaking about a friend; – raise awareness of the pronunciation of [ʃ]
Competence: SC5, PC and SC in talking about one‟s friend
Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: – speak about their friends – recognise nine main colours (red, yellow, green, pink, blue, black, brown, purple, white); – pronounce the sound [ʃ]
