ROAD OF TRAVEL OF OGHUZ BRAVES AT THE EPOS “BOOK OF DEDE KORKUT”: FROM COSMOS TO CHAOS OR CONTRARY TRANSITION
Summary
The epos “Book of Dede Korkut” which became the subject of research over the years is a poetic word monument expressing the history, life style and artistico-aesthetic thought of nation on itself.
At the article, the road of travel at the horizontal and vertical directions going forward from epic text structure of Oghuz braves, the rol playing at the passing of the travel motive from one to other status-at change of status and the creation of hero character, the first travel and its result at the trips, the chaotic condition-the details creating irregularity, the specific features of mythical travels, wine and dream being device of step and the details as passing from initiation proces at the mythical travels. were involved to the research and each of part of epos was studied on this direction.
The travels done divided into thre groups, the elements connecting and distinguishing them were explained. However, all travels of the braves from Oghuz to the land of the unbelievers for hunting to go to the far borders take place outside from the cosmos-at the chaos in terms of mythological thinking, this road generally was named the road of Cosmos and Chaos and especially, the border connecting them was shown as a place and device. The travels of the braves done was clearly explained. The carrying of the research on this direction will help the epos to be learnt more deeply.
