Major ethnic groups residing in the project area are 
Tamang, Newars, Brahmin, Chhetri, Magar etc
. People 
follow Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Kirant. 
2.1.2 Education and health 
The average literacy rate is about 69.8% out of which 60.92% female and 79.59% male are literate. Health 
services are provided by existing health posts and personnel.

Economic aspect 
2.2.1 Occupation 
The majority of population in this area depends on tourism (hotel based businesses) and agriculture. Maize, 
wheat, paddy, and various fruits and vegetables are the main crops of this area. Some people also depend on 
business, private and government jobs or become merchants for their survival. 
The living standard of the people here varies from low to high.

FINANCIAL ASPECTS OF THE PROJECT 
3.1
 
General 
This chapter deals with the estimation of the project cost. Schedules of unit rates of various work items were 
developed. The cost and schedule of materials and labor of proposed components such as civil structures, 
pipes and fittings, pipe laying and jointing, pipe transportation, trench excavation and backfilling, etc., were 
estimated using the governmental norms and district rates of Kavre of the fiscal year 2077/78. 
3.2
 
Availability of Construction Materials and Man Power 
Various construction materials like cement, reinforcement, GI wire, GI and HDPE pipes can be purchased 
from the market of 
Kuntabesi
which is connected with the project site with earthen and metallic road. These 
can be brought by trucks vehicle operated by local trade personnel to supply materials. Other local materials 
like stone, sand, aggregate, wood and bamboos etc. are available around some distance of periphery of the 
project area.
