First of all, the types 1 and 2, in the case where the 
deep and shallow tillage is not combined, have the 
disadvantages to cause a loss of traction efficiency 
(rolling resistance and slip [32]). The deep and 
shallow tillage implement combination permits to 
raise this difficulty. The third method is most effi-
cient, but it is handicapped by a limitation of the 
depth in certain cases. It has the big advantage to 
crumble all the volume of soil aimed in only one 
pass, instead of forming thick aggregations or clods 
and to try to r educe them thereafter. The localized 
tillage, by strip or by discontinuous zones saves
energy while being efficient for the conservation of 
soil and water (strip-tillage, and more flexible. To the 
extreme, direct drilling constitutes in the climatic and 
soil conditions adapted to this technology, the best 
alternative to tillage. 
Finally, the possibility of development of more and 
more precise implement and adjustable elements 
individually, the extension of the GPS, the 
development of sensors giving on -the-go 
information on soil and the more and more fine 
knowledge of the spatial variability of soil, lets 
glimpse possibilities of introduction of precision 
tillage of soil. But, considering the economic fallouts 
and gains discounted in protective term of the 
environment, we think, that the future is a lot more in 
the development of decision making tools (modeling, 
expert system) and in the GIS, than in the research of 
new tillage implements of soil.
