Introduction
Currently, English has acquired the status of an international language. It has become an integral part of modern culture, economy, politics, sports, education, art, tourism, and science. It should be noted that oral and written communication in English has become a reality and a necessity: we often encounter TV broadcasting, simple instructions for use in English, as well as communication with foreigners, both in real life and on the Internet. Thus, the purpose of teaching a foreign language is to form a communicative competence that includes both linguistic and socio-cultural competence, because without knowledge of the socio-cultural background, it is impossible to form a communicative competence even within limited limits. Learning a foreign language is designed to form a person who is able and willing to participate in cross-cultural communication.
Modern technical training tools are good helpers in solving these problems. A special place among them is occupied by audiovisual media: cinema, video programs and educational television.
The relevance of the work is to study the greatest effectiveness in the use of audiovisual means in teaching English. In the modern educational environment, the concept of using technical teaching tools requires new approaches.
The subject of our research is the use of audiovisual forms as non-traditional methods of teaching English.
The audiovisual form is an effective form of educational activity that not only activates students ' attention, but also contributes to improving their listening and speaking skills, since the visual support of a foreign-language sound series sounding from the screen helps to more fully and accurately understand its meaning [5, p.31].
